The way they talk.
The way their hand fits inside yours.
The way they lean into you without thinking.
Those very ordinary things
turn out to be the ones you wish you could go back to.
Because one day, you will long to remember how it felt when they were little enough to still need your kiss on their boo-boo.
My work is about holding onto that feeling, without turning your family photo session into a performance.
Hi! My name is Svitlana
I'm a Ukrainian transplant living in the US.
I'm also a preschool teacher, photographer, maker, and an observer of overlooked things.
I spend a lot of my life around children, which means I know the important stuff is rarely announced. It’s usually happening sideways, under the table, while someone is explaining a worm, refusing socks, or carrying a stick with alarming seriousness.
That way of seeing shapes my photography.
I don’t need children to perform for the camera.
I’m much more interested in what happens when they feel free enough to be themselves.
During the session, I’ll guide things through play, movement, and connection, so there’s no need for reminders, coaching, or rewards. Kids tend to open up best when they’re not being managed, just trusted.
Your role is easy: be present, stay relaxed, play alongside your child, and let them lead the way. I’ve got the rest.
You don’t need to ask your child to smile or “be on their best behavior.” Really, you can let that one go.
